Onkel Inn Airport Sleepbox

I walked in and was told a shared room would be ready in 30 minutes. They offered to keep my luggage in the seating area, and when I returned, check-in went smoothly. I had the shared room to myself for my whole five-hour stay. It wasn’t stuffy or too hot, though the room definitely isn’t soundproof. It costs more than hotels in La Paz city, but sleeping by the airport gave me peace of mind.

If you get in at 2am and don’t want the trouble of taking a taxi down to La Paz, this works well. It’s a sleepbox, not a hotel room, so the rooms are tiny and warm, as expected. Someone is at the desk 24/7, and I was checked in within two minutes.

The rooms are comfortable, though the ceiling feels a little low and they can get too warm.

The room got insanely stuffy. We were there from about 8-1:15a, and when I came back from using the bathroom outside the location but super close, I was shocked by the wall of stuffiness inside. I don’t get why they don’t put slats or some kind of ventilation in the doors. Everyone cracks their doors anyway. Add a small fan at each bed and they’d fix 80% of the problem. Instead, it seemed like they’d filled the place with fake 5 star reviews about a year before I wrote this. They could spend around $500 on door slits and fans, and then people might see this as a really convenient place instead of a regretful, sleepless waste of money. Don’t let your dreams stay dreams!
