Piedra Blanca Backpackers Hostel

We only asked whether we could book a room for that day, and the staff member brusquely said they were full and to come back at 13:00. He wouldn't hold our bags either. We went to look elsewhere, then he came back saying cancellations had opened up a room, but we had to book immediately. The price was high, so we took a moment to discuss it in our own language. While we were deciding, he let someone else go ahead of us and kept saying we could leave if we didn't like the hostel. His disrespectful attitude got so bad I raised my voice to stand up for myself, and only then did he back down. No guest should be treated that way. Completely unprofessional, and I wouldn't recommend it.

We got stuck in Uyuni until the next day because of border blockades to Chile, so we booked two rooms at the last minute for our group and some fellow travellers from the same tour. The receptionist was patient and helpful, and we got rooms quickly. They were clean and comfortable, with heaters, which is rare. The bathrooms were clean and modern too, with a great hot shower. There's a shared kitchen and lounge area for relaxing and socializing, plus a Metra table. It was probably the best place we stayed during our 20-day South America trip. It's a little way from the bus station but still walkable, and they'll give you a breakfast bag if you have an early bus. For the price and location, I was genuinely surprised. Strong 9/10, and I'd really recommend it for an overnight in Uyuni.

They offer good value, and the breakfast is solid for a hostel. The staff were kind and welcoming, and helped me a lot.

The dorm was great, with comfortable beds and everything clean. The breakfasts were especially good, with fruit, and the staff were nice. There's a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and terrace to spend time in, and the large lockers were useful. One small drawback: the backs of the lockers were a little broken and not fully secure, so a lock wouldn't stop someone getting in that way. Still, a really good stay for a good price. Thank you.
