The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean, and the location good. Breakfast was only served from 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning. We wanted to leave our backpacks at the hostel and were asked to pay for it. We've stayed in lots of hostels and this was the first time we've been charged, which felt strange.

We stayed at Residencial La Cabaña for two nights and had already paid for three when we left on a tour. The tour ran into problems and delayed us by a day. The hotel says it held our room while we were away on the three-day tour, even though we'd completely vacated it, but now won't let us stay or refund us for that empty room. The hotel isn't full, so it feels like a rip-off. We've also had a few problems with the man at the desk, who gets angry easily. We just want a refund or to stay the night so we can catch the bus the next day, but the OWNER won't even compromise if we pay MORE. He seems happy with his low rating and the steady business from overhyped international tourism. The place is dirty and freezing, and the people are cold too. Don't stay here.

Everything was very clean and the accommodation comfortable, with hot showers that I loved. As far as I could tell, though, there were only two showers for the whole hostel. The location was good and the staff great. Breakfast was free, but very basic and quite early.

It's near the main square, clean, and reasonably priced, with lots of young people around. There seemed to be some long-term residents too. Staff were accommodating: I told them I was on a star tour until 3am, and they let me in when I got back. I liked the place, though my room couldn't be properly secured.

The beds were good and it was a cheap hostel, but not the best place to stay. We booked a room for two and ended up with a bunk bed in a tiny room, with only one wall outlet. Breakfast finishes early at 08:30, and the coffee wasn't very good.
