Hostal la Magia de Uyuni

We had a great stay here on the way to San Pedro de Atacama. The hotel was clean and very well located, and our room had heating, which is a must in winter. Breakfast was included and very good, with plenty of fruit and fresh orange juice. We got there early, at 7:30 am, and the staff kindly stored our luggage until the room was ready. When we came back, they'd already brought it up to our room.

We stayed just one night, which was fine. The doors don't shut properly, so you can hear things easily and corridor light comes into the room.

The disco across the street was the biggest problem. It played very loud music from around midnight until sometime between 3 and 5 am, with the DJ and people yelling. After a day on the salt flats, it was hard to get proper rest. If you're sensitive to noise, you might want to avoid the hotel or ask for a room facing inward. The hotel is in a great spot, a three-minute walk from the main avenue where most travel agencies are. Some of the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. Our room was freezing, though. They said the heater would come on after 5:30 pm, but it didn't help much. When we asked, they gave us a portable gas heater, but we had to keep the window open for ventilation.

The staff were kind, and the room was very comfortable. Wi-Fi was fast and stable, and there was hot water for showers. You can borrow a hair dryer at the front desk. Since I checked out very early, they prepared a breakfast box for me.
