Le Ciel d Uyuni

The location is convenient, close to Uyuni’s main places, but the hotel looks a little old, especially the reception and its old couch. The most surprising problem was that the electric shower in our room didn’t work, so we used the shared bathrooms in the hall. Those were mostly fine, though it took longer for the water to heat up.

It’s affordable and in a great location, but we had no hot water for the shower, and neither the WiFi nor the power outlet worked. We were also accused of tearing a sheet cover that we hadn’t even used. They charged us the full 200 BOB for it, though we offered to sew it up. The owner wouldn’t meet us halfway, even though it was one person’s word against another’s.

It’s under a 10-minute walk to the bus station and within walking distance of the centre. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a big table and a heater, which I liked. The bathrooms were very clean, but the hot water didn’t work in one shower space. It was also a bit chilly while I showered because wind came through the gap above the door. The staff were okay, though not very friendly.

The hotel was okay, but the location was very good. The beds were warm and breakfast was acceptable, with very good orange juice. There was only one power outlet in the room, and the heater used it, so we left the heating off overnight.
