We ended up leaving and finding somewhere else for the night, where they explained the currency difference and let us pay the advertised booking amount in USD. The reception staff here were friendly, and I'm not blaming them personally, but the price at checkout was almost double what we'd agreed to through the booking app. They wanted cash in BS. One staff member said the app discount had made the exchange rate wrong, so they wouldn't get commission. If they won't honor the prices they advertise on the app, I don't see the point of listing there. We had booked for one night.

The place feels gloomy, with no proper communal space for meeting other travelers and no staff who seemed able to help. It's about a 15 minute walk north from the other hostels and sights, into an area that felt a bit sketchy. It also doesn't feel like a real travelers' hostel. La Paz can feel gloomy enough already, so I'd only stay here if you can't find anywhere closer to the center. It's near the bus station, but a taxi from town is only around $3 US anyway. If you can, look for a hostel nearer the sights, or try the much cheerier Hostel Ananay. It sits on a lovely pedestrian cobblestone alley lined with colorful colonial buildings. Locals told me it's the oldest street in La Paz.

A triple room with a shared washroom cost me 170 Bolivianos. Decent for the money, and the location is handy for the bus station.
