Hotel Presidente

The room feels dated, but it was comfortable and fairly clean. There was some noise from all the cars honking below. Reception and the concierge were very friendly. The location is excellent, with the witches market and other main sights an easy walk away. For this area, where good international hotels are hard to find, it was a very good stay.

This is a clean, affordable, safe hotel in a very useful spot for La Paz and the surrounding area. Coming from the airport by car, you reach it right off the motorway exit. The staff were great and very helpful, and my room was clean, comfortable, and had a good bed. The place feels stuck somewhere in the 90s or 2000s, and I'd put it around 3.5 stars, nowhere near five. Wi-Fi was usable but not great, the TV service was dreadful, and breakfast was basic but did the job. Good value, and I'd stay again. If I wanted a proper four or five star experience, I'd look somewhere more upscale.

The location worked really well for sightseeing, close to museums and government buildings, and I would happily return. Reception was excellent and helped sort out my reservation changes, transport, and laundry. The restaurant staff were very helpful too, and I appreciated having breakfast ready at 04:00. The pool was hard to use in the afternoons because children's swimming lessons were going on. I could probably have gone in, but I didn't feel comfortable doing that. For a five-star room, the doors, walls, windows, and floors across the property need updating, and the 1980’s lobby especially needs a remodel.

The hotel is right in the centre, with nice rooms. There's some city noise during the day.
