Live by Stannum

The hotel is inside a mall, so there are plenty of food options and a cinema nearby. It's in what I was told is one of the safest neighborhoods in La Paz, with the Blue line cable car a three-minute walk away. The hotel arranged a taxi for 2 a.m. that cost only 120 BS. My room had a fantastic view of the snow-capped mountain. Getting here from the airport is easy. Take the Airport Van (Aeropuerto) to its last stop, Plaza Isabel la Catolina, then walk three minutes to the hotel. The room was spacious and very clean, breakfast had a good spread, and all the staff were polite and courteous. St Francis church makes an interesting walk back to the hotel, about 40 minutes downhill the whole way, or it's two stops on the Blue line cable car.

This was our second stay, and the service somehow felt even better than before. The team gave us thoughtful advice about La Paz that helped us enjoy the city more. A heartfelt thank you to Armodo, Gerardo, and Camilla at the front desk. They really cared, arranged smooth transportation to different places, and kindly checked us in early on my husband's birthday and our anniversary. Even with the early check-in, they had the surprise we'd arranged ready exactly as planned. The restaurant is a real gem, easily one of the best in La Paz. We were two adults and one child staying for four nights. The rooms were bright and clean, with lovely views of the city and mountains. The location is ideal, beside a cable car station and a mall. Staff were helpful and friendly, and kept our bags while we visited the salt flats. We also really appreciated the free 30-minute massage voucher we received at check-in. The hotel offers airport transfers for 25 USD. Make sure to ask for a car with seatbelts, since one of the taxis we were given didn't have them. Breakfast was good, with both kitchen orders and a buffet. On some days they served only goat milk butter, without labeling it, so smell the butter first.

The Stannum was a great experience. The service stood out, the bedding was luxurious, and the views were incredible. The location felt safe and convenient. I was unsure about a modern hotel above a movie theater complex, but it was tucked away and very quiet, with its own elevator to the high floors.
