Qhini Hotel Boutique

Avoid this hotel. The rooms were dirty, and the owner was unpleasant and hot-headed. When I tried to pay in local currency instead of USD, which you can’t access in Bolivia, he used an unofficial exchange rate, almost double the official one, and ripped me off. Getting to the hotel from the cable car station means walking through dark backstreet alleyways with aggressive stray dogs. One of them bit my sister’s rucksack.

The service is what stood out most. I lost a small screw from my motorbike, and the father brought out a wooden box full of hundreds of screws so we could find the right replacement together. It’s a beautiful little family run hotel with lovely gardens, excellent large rooms, and the best shower I’ve had in South America. I can’t recommend this boutique hotel highly enough.

I came back for a second stay before flying out of La Paz, which says a lot. It’s a fantastic family run boutique hotel, spotlessly clean, with large, comfortable rooms and lovely outside gardens. The whole family pitches in and makes you feel at ease. Everyone is so customer friendly, and breakfast is good and nicely presented. Highly recommended.

The location is a little outside town, but being close to the cable car station made getting around easy. Breakfast was the best we had in South America. Qhini hotel is family owned, and they picked us up from the airport and dropped us off too. The two sons speak English, and the mum and dad were amazing and helpful. Staff also helped with directions and setting up our phones, and let us store our luggage for a few days. We had laundry done there as well, and it came back spotless and on time. Qhini hotel was perfect for our stay in La Paz, highly recommend it.
