Eucalyptus Hostal

We arrived late without booking ahead, but the receptionist answered the door and showed us to a room right away. The receptionists were always friendly and helpful, and breakfast even came with fresh orange juice. It was easy to arrange the mine tour through koala tours, with pickup at the hostel, for 200bob per person. A good place to stay in Potosí.

Breakfast was very nice, with fresh bread, juice, eggs, and fruit. You can use the kitchen too, and they’ll give you coca tea if you need it. The room and bathroom were small and basic, but sufficient for a good stay in Potosi while exploring the mines. The bathroom’s small window didn’t close all the way, so exhaust from the street smelled bad. The street side can also be noisy at night. Still, the location is perfect, right in the center, and easy to walk everywhere.

A great spot to unwind after a salt flats tour, or just enjoy a nice hotel while traveling. The modern, updated rooms have extra long beds, so tall people will fit comfortably. Breakfast was great, and the rooftop mirador is a perfect place for a beer at sunset. Right in the center. Highly recommend this hostel, which feels more like a hotel!

The bed was comfortable, the staff very friendly, and the main square is only about a five minute walk away. But the place seems to have gone without maintenance for a while. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, the furniture is worn, and the room is quite dark. There are no windows in the room that open, only a tiny bathroom window, so it also smells funny. At the 25$ US we paid, I thought it was overpriced. Still, it might be okay if you only need somewhere to rest for a night or two.
