Breakfast was nice, and the garden gave the hotel a lovely feel. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Wi-Fi worked well most of the time, too. A couple of things felt off: the room doors were unusually stiff, and sometimes the plug socket sparked when I connected a device. I think it’s safe, but it didn’t look that way.

The pool was nice and the view pretty, and the staff were pleasant. The rooms are quite basic, though comfortable enough. They didn’t pick us up from the airport as promised, but they did reimburse us for the ride we had to pay for. It was much nicer than we expected.

Chalalan ecolodge arranged Maya Hotel for us before our jungle tour, and I’m glad they did. We met lots of other travelers there, and the staff were very friendly and spoke English. There are several places to sit in the backyard among tropical plants, plus another seating area right by the river. Breakfast was hearty, with eggs, cheese, meat, yogurt, fresh local fruit, and warm bread. Our bed was large and comfortable, the room had air conditioning, and the shower stayed hot.

There was no lunch or dinner available, and I found the breakfast bad. The hotel needs an upgrade to reach three stars. Also, don’t change money here. They tried to give me less than 560 bolivianos for 100 US$. Go to a bank.

We enjoyed staying here. The terrace overlooking the river was lovely, and the rooms were comfortable and had air conditioning. Everything was very clean, and the staff were friendly.
