Hotel Julia

The guy at reception was very nice, and the location is great. I would recommend staying one night, but not longer. It's a noisy place, and the soundproofing isn't good enough for people to be talking at reception late into the night. I was woken at 5 am by strange noises as someone started getting ready in their room. At breakfast, the woman watching over things felt a bit like the police, keeping an eye on what and how much people ate. It made me feel guilty about eating what I'd paid for. The bowls for oats, yoghurt, and fruit were tiny, so I prepared two to avoid repeated trips, and she challenged me about it. The shared shower is over the toilet, and the shower head is so clogged with limescale that little water comes out, spraying everywhere. The water is only warm.

The rooms aren't always perfectly clean, and sometimes there's no hot water. Still, the staff are very friendly, and the hotel is right by the tour operators. Even if your tour ends at dawn, you're only a few steps from the hotel. Before my night bus on the day I left Uyuni, they let me stay in the room and rest for a small extra fee. I recommend it.

The owner was very friendly, and the price was very economical. I stayed two days in a twin room with a shared bathroom, and it felt like we were the only ones using it. The room was warm, the wifi was fast, the hot water very hot, and everything was clean. Breakfast was quite good too. The location is great, with a tour company right next door. I was very satisfied and would recommend it. I think it's the best hotel in uyuni.

Absolute scammers! I booked a room for 36$€ a night, but when I arrived they charged 60$ in bolivianos. There was no option to pay in USD or cash in bolivianos. Their exchange rate was almost 50% higher.
