I expected more from the place. The staff were attentive, and the room had separate beds, a bathroom, and a half-bath. Geribá beach is very close, so there’s really no need for a car. Breakfast was very simple but adequate. The room was poorly kept and not very clean. It smelled like perfume mixed with mildew, and the doors dragged on the floor. The breakfast area stays open all day, and I saw three cats on the property. I left my key with them because I didn’t want anyone going into my room, but when I got back from the beach, someone had entered to tidy up using a spare key. The pool was in terrible condition. I also didn’t agree with the sustainability claim. You have to let the shower run for at least five minutes before the water gets warm.

The employees were excellent and clearly doing their best to deal with problems quickly. I saw them responding promptly whenever maintenance was requested, even though the inn had a few issues after the management had just changed when I visited in June 2018. One thing that bothered me was the information about breakfast. I wasn’t told at the time of booking or check-in that it cost extra, and I made sure to mention that to the staff. I’d stay here again and recommend it because I believe in the potential of the people working there.

The replacement room was in such rough shape that we couldn’t stay through the end of our booked nights. Its furniture was so old it looked ready to fall apart, and the shower was filthy. Even though it wasn’t the room we’d reserved, the hotel could have at least provided a decent cleaning. My husband and I were excited about the trip, but the weather wasn’t good when we arrived, so we had to spend more time at the inn. The air conditioner in our reserved room didn’t work. The receptionist suggested moving us, and we agreed. The whole experience was disastrous. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The inn has a really pleasant atmosphere and a good location near Geribá beach. When the first room felt stuffy and had a leak at the handheld bidet sprayer, the staff acted quickly and moved us to a much bigger, airier room near the pool. The shower was the one thing that still let us down, it was in very poor condition. If you book, ask for a room by the pool and avoid the ones behind reception.
