Peixe Crew Manguinhos

The room was filthy, with dirt, cobwebs, and dust everywhere. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in over a year, and the pool looked just as bad. There was hair and mold on the bed. My wife’s allergies started flaring from the dirt and dust on the walls. The bathroom door also has no lock, which worried the women in my family. The photos tell you what you need to know. There are at least three cats living on the property, and possibly inside the bungalow, but that wasn’t mentioned in the listing. I have a fatal cat allergy, so I wouldn’t have booked if I’d known. When I refused to stay after discovering the cats, the owner or manager refused to refund our money. We couldn’t stay there, even though the pool looked filthy too. I’m guessing they’ve had a hard time maintaining the place since COVID. They clearly don’t clean to a normal acceptable standard, which makes me doubt they follow any COVID protocols. They also don’t seem to care how the animals affect guests. We showed up with a one-year-old and a family of four, and the owner or manager showed no customer service or concern for their part of the agreement: having a clean room ready to sleep in.

Filthy, like a sewage tank. Hair and mold on the bed. Disgusting, the worst inn I’ve ever stayed at. I couldn’t enjoy anything. I don’t know how it’s allowed to stay open.

The owner also manages the place, but he’s impolite and unprepared for the job. He doesn’t care about his guests. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The area is quiet and feels very safe, with easy access to the city center and none of the noise. Manguinhos is only 70 meters away, and the beautiful beaches are easy to reach. Service and breakfast were very good, and there’s a nice pool and sauna, though with weather as good as ours, we didn’t need them. Bruno was a standout host, always proactive and ready to share information or help with anything that would make our stay at Peixe Crew and in Buzios more enjoyable. I highly recommend it and would definitely return. 10/10.
