Pousada Sonhos de Praia Chalés

This was our worst stay anywhere. The room was completely moldy. The TV fell after my husband touched it lightly, not in a collision. It was mounted using a bracket with rollers on the TV and a small flat plate on the wall, open at the sides. Those parts were incompatible. The owner should have replaced the wall bracket with a suitable one when they bought the TV, but they didn’t. We were charged 800 reais, around 80% of the price of a new TV, and told it was our responsibility. We paid because we were afraid. Thankfully, my husband managed to protect our baby daughter, who was nearby. It was a nightmare. In response to what they said, the photo at the end shows my conversation with the pousada and that they were wrong to claim we hadn’t told them the TV fell. We reported it as soon as we woke up. It was the first thing we did when we found the first pousada staff member, since nobody is there overnight. We told the women working in the breakfast area because there was no one at reception. When we got back from the beach at around 1 in the afternoon, we spoke with Senhor Alexandre at reception. He told us the owner would contact us to talk. So we were surprised when they refused to take responsibility. My husband only touched the TV; it wasn’t a collision. It fell because the bracket on the wall didn’t match the one installed on the back of the TV. There are two balls on top of a flat plate that’s completely open at the sides. They should have replaced the wall bracket with a suitable one when they bought the TV. They didn’t, and charged us for their safety failure.

The pool was great, and my six-year-old daughter loved it. We had lots of fun there. Breakfast was generous and very good, and the accommodation was comfortable with daily cleaning. The kitchen was the one thing that fell a little short because it wasn’t very well equipped, but it was still usable. When we asked for a utensil that was missing, they brought one right away.

We had a really wonderful stay, and the service was excellent. The pool was lovely and always clean. Breakfast was delicious and very complete, and the mattress was good. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the shower was great, and the TV was modern and had apps. Thank you!

The staff treated us with so much warmth, a big thank you to the women who work there! I loved our stay and hope to keep coming back. The pousada is spacious, with excellent rooms that have air conditioning, a TV, and a clothes rack, plus even a balcony. It’s near the center and the beach, as well as the places where weddings are held. The rooms are cleaned daily, and breakfast is delicious, with tapioca made to order. Friendly monkeys also come by!
