Hotel Blue Dream Resort

Fantastic.

The location is beautiful, with excellent service and what feels almost like a private beach. If you’re looking for beaches without vendors, Barra do Cunhaú is a good choice. During our stay, the restaurant was closed because occupancy was very low, though drinks and snacks were still available. The hotel does need more attention to maintenance. Our unit had water coming through a wall from the air conditioner drain. There was no mold or smell, but someone with a respiratory condition might have trouble. Holes in walls where fixtures had been removed also hurt the hotel’s appearance.

This was supposed to be a restful weekend, but it turned into a stressful stay. The front desk service was awful, the rooms weren’t comfortable, and the place is just a small inn, nowhere near a resort. Many things advertised weren’t available, including cable or subscription TV and wireless internet. The showers were broken with no hot water, and we were told they were all out of order. Breakfast was poor too, and the tables had no cloths. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Breakfast had very little choice, and when you needed something the reception area seemed abandoned. On the day we arrived, a wedding was scheduled, so the pool area was off limits until the next day. It was a good stay otherwise, and fixing those issues would make the place great.
