Hotel Pousada Sol do Araguaia

The rooms look old and are due for renovation. In the room I stayed in, the bathroom badly needed work: the floor was dirty and broken, and the tiles looked like they might fall off. Breakfast was decent, though I thought there should be more fruit options. On the plus side, it was very quiet and peaceful, and both the air conditioning and internet worked really well.

The location was good, but my stay wasn’t a very good experience. At breakfast, three women were sitting and talking while the food was running out. They didn’t even have the basics, like eggs, pão de queijo, or a plate for me to eat from, and they all looked grumpy. My room, 202, was awful, with some unwanted insects, especially in the bathroom. Worse, there was a meeting beside my room, with people shouting and staff members crying and arguing among themselves. I heard the whole argument and couldn’t get back to sleep. I had several hours of driving ahead and left the hotel exhausted. Unfortunately, the stay wasn’t very positive.

The room was average, the air conditioning was faulty, and cleaning wasn’t good. The bathroom was tiny, and breakfast was simple. The place doesn’t look like the photos anymore, since they’ve removed most things from the hotel desk area and the kiosks, among other things. For the price, I’d look at other hotels.

The bed was comfortable, the service was great, the location was easy to find, and breakfast was simple but tasty. But the leisure area was a big disappointment. I’d expected a lot from the deck, but when I got there it was overgrown and poorly kept, nothing like the photos. The pool made my body really itchy. The old, noisy air conditioner kept switching on and off with a loud bang each time, waking us up, and the parking area was very narrow. I did like the stay, but the leisure area let me down the most.
