Ouro Minas Hotel Belo Horizonte, Dolce by Wyndham

The billing was misleading. At check-in, I asked to change my two-night stay to one night. They said it was no problem and charged me for one night. At checkout, they said I hadn't paid enough and made me pay for the second night. My colleague was in the same situation but wasn't charged for it. The rooms aren't very clean, and there's a lot of noise from the nearby highway. There aren't any power outlets near the beds.

Coming back to Ouro Minas Palace on July 22nd after visiting Ouro Preto was a letdown. We were put beside a room with a dog that barked often. Our carpet was dirty, the blanket had a stain, and the plumbing clogged and left a sewage odor. Maintenance tried to deal with it, but the smell stayed. The first arrival on July 19th had gone smoothly despite being late, around 11 pm. Kauan was kind and did his best to explain the amenities in English, and even with dated facilities and very dirty carpets, we initially felt comfortable. Later, at about 11:30 pm, piano playing carried loudly into our room because the soundproofing was poor. Rodrigo at the front desk brushed off our question about when it would stop, asking why we were complaining and telling us to put up with it. That response made an already frustrating stay worse. Kauan's help at check-in was the one good part. We wouldn't recommend staying here, and I'd give a negative rating if I could.

For a five-star place, I didn't feel the attentive service was there 😓. There isn't a hot water kettle in the room for tea or coffee, and although the hotel said hot water was available, you have to pay for it. It's not a bad hotel, but these little things need work.

Breakfast had plenty of good choices, and the kids' area was nice. The rest was rough: the room and floors weren't very clean, and the restaurant service was horrible. The comforter was dirty, so I called the first night to ask for fresh bed linen, but nobody came. We eventually took it to the front desk; they brought another comforter but left the bed unmade. The next night we ran out of toilet paper and there wasn't any spare in the room.
