Hotel Caiuá Blumenau

I stayed from 15 to 17/12, and several parts of the hotel's service left me dissatisfied. At checkout I was charged R$185, and only then was I told that the extra-person fee was charged per night. At check-in, I had been told my agency booking covered one person and that adding a second would cost R$90 plus 3%, with no mention that this was per night. I've stayed here before and was never charged that way. The parking charge was another surprise at checkout, since no price or fee had been disclosed beforehand. That lack of transparency was really frustrating. There is no room service, so even for towels you have to go to reception, which is inconvenient. I asked for the air-conditioning remote around 1:20 p.m. and only got it at 6 p.m., after asking three times, despite several staff being at reception. The bathroom shaft carries noise from other rooms, and there was loud music at 6:30 in the morning. This hotel could be the best in Blumenau, but these problems really hurt the experience.

I've stayed at the hotel three times, and the experience has generally been positive. The staff are very good, and the valet parking was excellent, quick, polite, and convenient. The rooms are spacious, clean, and modern, with beds comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. Breakfast is good, with fresh, well-prepared variety. It isn't amazing, but it's above average. The bathrooms could be better. They were clean and functional, but I could easily hear noise from neighboring rooms, and an occasional smell came back through, which made things less comfortable. The hotel is new and well maintained. I'd recommend it and stay again.

The location on busy Rua Sete means you'll want to keep the windows closed to cut down on noise. If you do, it shouldn't be a concern. The hotel is new, well looked after, and very clean. The rooms are comfortable, WiFi signal is good, and the bathroom is spacious and bright. The minibar is installed up high, which is handy for older people. The hospitality team gave excellent service and were all friendly and attentive. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choices, and everything we tried was delicious.
