Novo Hotel

I never received confirmation for the room I booked.

The staff were excellent, and the breakfast was decent, though adding fruit would make it better. I had to stay overnight because of an emergency in the city caused by a power outage, and found this hotel. The basics left a lot to be desired: there was no hygiene kit, such as toothpaste or a toothbrush. This is the first hotel where I’ve seen that.

I stayed for four days. The beds and air conditioning were good, but the bathroom was tiny and would be difficult for a larger or obese person to use. Breakfast was quite ordinary, with weak coffee and very few choices, and they don’t serve it on Sundays. We also had water outages, early morning noise because there’s only one hallway, and an odor from reception, where breakfast is served.

The bed was reasonably good, which is the only reason I’m giving this place two stars. Everything else was unfortunately awful. The price is VERY high for what you get, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The location is near the center, but there’s nothing nearby. Restaurants, banks, and pharmacies require a long walk. Breakfast is only bread, coffee, passion fruit juice, ham, cheese, and margarine. Sausage and eggs show up on some days, but not consistently. And there is NO BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY! Bath towels are changed every three days, and complaining at reception doesn’t help. Bed linen is changed only when you check out. There are two Wi-Fi networks, but both are so slow they’ll just frustrate you. Your phone’s 3G is much better. The TV only gets Globo, and sometimes the signal doesn’t even come through. Don’t bring an HDMI cable because it won’t work with the TV.
