Hotel Lago Azul

This was easily my worst hotel stay so far. Even though we had a reservation, getting the keys at check-in took over an hour. The room was falling apart and the air conditioning barely worked. The games room was in poor shape, and the shower stopped working after our second use.

I was really disappointed and won't return. Our room, booked through booking, felt like a reject, tucked at the back far from the main hotel, with no working intercom and inadequate lighting. It was old, with a spring mattress, and there were no towels or bath mats when we arrived. On New Year's Eve there was no water for a shower, so I had to go down to reception three times while we were already late for our social event. The attendant said we'd have to wait for a plumber and there was nowhere else to shower. Once the water came back, while we were getting ready and already behind schedule, someone knocked and wanted to come in to inspect the bathroom. Toilet paper wasn't replenished the next day either. The whole situation was embarrassing.

I won't be back, and neither will my coworkers. They don't provide cutlery for meals. At the very least, they should make disposable utensils available to guests.

It's a very simple hotel, but everything was clean and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The staff were polite and helpful, and breakfast was very good. I'd recommend it!
