Pousada Maliale

The family who runs the place works together to make sure guests are well looked after, and the pool is lovely with plenty of nature around. There's a pier for anyone who wants to relive childhood and jump in for a swim, plus what feels like an almost private beach. Having to take a boat to Ilha de Boipeba doesn't get in the way at all. It adds to the charm. They're also planning to start restaurant service soon, which should make it easier to spend more time there.

The setting at the pousada is magical, with nature all around and well preserved. I lost track of the days and could easily have stayed much longer without wanting to head home. Karine, the manager, patiently answered all my questions before we traveled, and she and her family and team made our stay unforgettable. Cleise at reception was so caring and attentive. Rafael took us by boat to town several times and gave us great tips for outings. Thank you all. I hope we can come back soon.

The breakfast is simple, but there's plenty to choose from and it was all good. The pousada is so peaceful, right by the river and surrounded by nature. Staying in Boipeba is wonderful, and next time we're there we'll stay at Maliale again.

The breakfast was very good, but the rest of the stay didn't match the high price. There's no restaurant, and everything was sold from the kitchen. The place itself is paradise, almost like a private island, but the complimentary soap and shampoo were really poor quality. Our room was spacious, though the pillows were uncomfortable and cleaning was lacking. They only came in to change towels and make the bed. One night I had to ask them to clean the bathroom because the drain was so dirty that shower water overflowed and flooded it. We had to cross by boat regularly. We were told to message reception and they'd send the boatman, but we always ended up waiting, even for the pousada to get back to us. I don't understand why we weren't given the boatmen's contact details, apart from the one assigned for the nights of 31/12, 01/01, and 02/01, or a number for emergencies.
