Pousada Porto dos Milagres

For what I paid, these problems were unacceptable. The air conditioner barely cools and is extremely loud, and the TV doesn't work. I paid 4,500 reais for six nights, and I'm sweating without a shirt even with the AC turned down as low as it goes. The noise is keeping me from sleeping. The front desk said they'd only try to fix it later, and they haven't offered me another room. I'm still waiting for a solution. There are cheaper hotels right nearby without these issues, so look around before choosing this one.

The staff were very good, and the inn is in a privileged spot on Morro de São Paulo. Apartment 12 also has a wonderful view. But my three nights there were a huge disappointment, and the room shouldn't be kept in this condition. The balcony door has a gap wide enough for a hand, letting in wind that makes the tattered curtain flap. The bathroom door won't stay shut because its latch doesn't work, and the old, corroded bathroom window latch is broken too. The toilet seat is smaller than the bowl, and a sewer smell comes back through the sink pipe or drain. The bidet sprayer kept leaking, and water pools inside the shower stall, making it slippery with soap. A bedside table under the TV sticks out over the bed, so you risk hitting your head or shoulder. The fridge is frighteningly old, and there was a lot of dirt under the bed, as if it hadn't been cleaned for months. It's a shame to keep a room like this, and the inn's management shouldn't leave a guest in these conditions.

There were three of us, and we asked if two breakfast tables could be pushed together. They said no, so we had to sit apart and couldn't talk. It made us feel like they didn't care about the guests.

The room facing the sea was exceptional, and the cleanliness was wonderful. The little cake was the tastiest I've ever had, a real dream! It felt like paradise. We'll be back again.
