Hotel Golden Park Campinas Cambui

The staff were very nice and helpful, though most didn't speak English. At breakfast, they didn't always replace items that had run out. The room TV only had Brazilian channels in Portuguese, with nothing in English, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable. The mini-fridge was empty, so bring your own drinks and snacks, and there were no irons or ironing boards. We stayed in two different rooms. This isn't the four-star hotel it's advertised as. There are only stairs at the entrance, with no ramp for disabled guests. I'd rate it three stars.

I'd wait until the renovation is done to see how much improves. For now, it wasn't a pleasant stay. The rooms were spacious but dark and dated, and the bathroom ceiling was dark too, with exposed wiring and very dusty fixtures. The sink taps leaked, and their round knobs were hard to turn with wet, soapy hands. There was dust and noise from the ongoing work. When I arrived, one employee was handling both the parking lot and reception, so check-in took a while.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit. The breakfast was fresh and excellent, and the chef made perfect French omelettes. The hotel is clean and conveniently located downtown, with friendly, courteous staff. It also has a gym, pool and sauna.

The room was very comfortable, though the airport was a bit far away. Campinas has two hotels called "Golden Park". The other one is the one closer to the airport.
