We fell for caraiva, and this pousada was a big part of the experience. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were wonderful. My mother wasn’t feeling well, and the women there offered her tablets and other things to help. If you’ve got several bags, they can arrange to have the horses carry them. It’s not far from the canoe crossing, though the heat and soft sand make it feel much farther. We visited in April 2022, and I’m still desperate to go back. After leaving for trancoso and ending up at a terrible pousada, we returned, and the lovely people welcomed us back even though we had no reservation. A little piece of heaven, and somewhere you have to visit once in your life.

The place was clean and nice, and the location was good, but the owner was fussy about everything. We were a large group and weren’t even allowed to move the trundle bed into the living room or rearrange the furniture. The air conditioner in our room leaked the entire stay, too. We had several frustrating problems, and I wouldn’t return. There are better places in caraiva.

The outdoor area is stunning, peaceful, and welcoming, with so much care in every detail. The pousada itself is modern, comfortable, and very well equipped, and our room was great, with air conditioning that worked perfectly. The location made it easy to enjoy Caraíva while still being somewhere quiet. From our very first contact, the service was attentive, caring, and kind. Tércio deserves a special mention: he was present, polite, always ready to help, and a wonderful host who made the stay feel even more special. Everything was impeccable. We recommend it wholeheartedly and will definitely be back. We’ve already started missing it.

The room won us over, especially the amazing view that looked like a painting. We also appreciated having a minibar and a few wines available to buy in the room. We stayed at Farol de Caraíva for two nights, near the beach in a very quiet spot, so it was great for resting. The welcome was very attentive, and they sent us lots of helpful tips for restaurants, outings, and even buggy options. Check-out was flexible too. We were going to Praia do Satu and wouldn’t be back until after 14h, so they let us leave our bags safely and use the bathroom and shower. That made a real difference. The only downside was the shower’s low water pressure. Apart from that, everything was excellent, and we highly recommend it for a comfortable, peaceful stay in Caraíva.
