Friendly hosts, an open kitchen I loved, and birds flying around overhead. I started calling it the 'angry birds' hostel. It has a homey feel, though the place is a bit dated, and the bed and bathroom are small.

It’s peaceful, and the rooms have plenty of beds, which works well for families. You can pay less if you skip breakfast, and there’s also space on their grounds to pitch a tent if you want to spend less.

The place is simple but cozy, clean, pleasant, and quiet. There’s a shared kitchen with a fridge, plus a varied and very good breakfast. Sandra and Pinho were great hosts, attentive and easy to talk to.

What a welcoming place. The year has been so dry that the landscape isn’t green, which is a shame. Still, it’s a lovely spot. It’s raining now, and we’re sitting on the porch, watching the rain fall, smelling the damp earth, and listening. Highly recommend it.

The location is close to town, the grounds are really nice, and breakfast was OK. Those were the good parts. I’m writing about the rest because I don’t want other people to be as disappointed as my friends and I were. We paid R$ 1.300 for one night in a small room for four, with one person sleeping on a mattress on the floor. The room was clean, but the private bathroom had no shower enclosure or squeegee, and hardly any water came from the tap. We chose the place partly because the Airbnb listing said there was a shared kitchen. We wanted to cook for ourselves since the town was going to be packed with tourists and the restaurants too. The kitchen was the worst part: the stove looked at least 30 years old, there were only two old pans, and the cutlery and other utensils were dusty. They hadn’t even rinsed things off before guests arrived. Another family staying by our room used the kitchen too and complained about its condition. The stove was incredibly slow. Risotto took two hours, and pasta the next day took an hour. It was around noon, and the family next door wanted to make lunch as well, so they had to wait. We warned them it would take a while because of the stove. When the owner came by and asked if everything was all right, we told her about the problem. She said, “I can’t do anything, mine is the same.” For some reason, blue paint is coming off in the pool, and you can come out looking like Avatar. Paying so much for a basic room and not getting decent service or even basic lodging care was really frustrating. I’ve stayed in all sorts of hotels, inns, and hostels, from simple to fancy, and this was my worst experience.
