Pousada & Camping Serras Verdes

The road up to the pousada is a bit of a downside, but that comes with the place. The welcome from the owners was wonderful, they’re incredibly warm and friendly. The breakfast is simple but lovely, and much of it is made by them, including the coffee, which gives it a special touch. There’s lots of room for kids to play. I’ll be back!

Nature lovers will be delighted by this place. Greenery is everywhere on the property, and the hosts are always attentive. The camping area is very well equipped, with a pool and everything campers need to be comfortable. It deserves to rank among the best campgrounds in the State of Río de Janeiro. Five stars, without a doubt.

It’s a peaceful spot surrounded by nature. We stayed in a room for four, and there are several room options. The chalets are charming, and you can also sleep in tents. There’s a garden, a lake, waterfalls we didn’t have time to visit, a pool, a small games area, and a little pig for the kids. The owners are friendly. Getting there is only okay. The road to the entrance is unpaved, with hills and potholes, and you have to watch carefully so you don’t miss the turn. There’s no phone or internet signal at all, and the property’s Wi-Fi is also terrible. Breakfast was just okay, very simple with few choices. It could be better for the price. One nice detail is that they make their own coffee.

Dona Regina and seu Danilo are wonderful hosts, and the cozy chalet made our stay. The property is out in the countryside, but only 2km from the center. There’s a garden and lots of birds, and the breakfast was perfect. We went in search of cold weather and certainly got it! We’ll return in summer to enjoy the pool, which we didn’t go near because it was so cold. Such a lovely place. Just don’t count on your phone or internet working, the signal is poor even in town.
