Pousada Vila Nakau

The view from this guesthouse is its clear strength. Its elevated position gives you a lovely outlook over the sea. The breakfast itself tasted good, but we found the service setup awkward. By 7 p.m. the previous day, we had to choose everything and give an exact breakfast time. At that time, a staff member knocked on our room door, then brought the whole meal to the doorway, where the wind made it cool quickly. We also had to come out right away, since pigeons would eat it if left unattended. We didn’t find much to enjoy outside the room, either. The garden seemed overdue for regular care, with weeds growing around the property and nearby. There wasn’t a pleasant shared sitting area where we could take in the view. Housekeeping only runs until noon; once, we left at 11:55 and were told cleaning wasn’t possible because the staff member was already leaving. Getting around wasn’t ideal for us. Vila dos Remédios is about a 15-minute walk away, and the way back includes a hill. The immediate surroundings also felt uninviting, with some poorly kept looking buildings and rubbish by the entrance. We wanted to give this detailed feedback because the guesthouse’s overall platform rating didn’t seem to fully reflect our experience.

Breakfast on the balcony, with the sea in view, was a lovely part of our stay, and there were plenty of tasty choices. The rooms were very comfortable, the view was breathtaking, and the service felt as attentive as a five-star hotel. A wonderful place to unwind. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and hospitality.

After a day out exploring, we slept well in a comfortable bed and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The local hosts made us feel very welcome, shared helpful information, and were always ready to assist. Naná and Cláudio are wonderful hosts.

I loved staying at Vila Nakau. The room was comfortable, the view was beautiful, and breakfast was delicious. What really made it five stars, though, was Duda’s smile and the whole team’s warm welcome. I loved your service!
