Hotel Canasvieiras In

The neighborhood feels safe, and the beach is a pleasant walk away. The staff do what they can, but they can't fix everything. I've stayed in hostels that were better maintained. On visits to several rooms, I found the same kinds of problems: noisy air conditioners, a damp smell in many rooms, and furniture that's very old and often broken. We were there for 13 days for a chess tournament, and the room was beside the five elevators serving the entrance area. At least two were extremely loud and badly affected our sleep. One banged whenever its doors opened or shut, with sound peaks I recorded at nearly 80 dB, even when it wasn't stopping on our floor. Another rumbled loudly as it moved. Bring earplugs unless you have trouble hearing. There was also an almost constant sewer smell in our room. The efficient cleaning staff could lessen it, but it usually came back within a few hours. The buffet is okay for one day, but lacks variety and the food is bland. There are much better restaurants nearby. Honestly, I'm not a difficult person, but those problems were hard to overlook.
