The people at Hostel Moçambique made us feel at home. We were on a road trip and needed somewhere to car camp for the night and take a shower, and the owner let us use the showers for 10 reals. They were clean, the bathrooms were too, and the water was warm. We could also spend time in the common areas with our friends who were staying there. Guests and workers were all so welcoming that we ended up playing music and dancing together. It was a really sweet, heartwarming experience.

We left after one night even though we’d booked two, based on the positive reviews. The staff were polite, but that wasn’t nearly enough to make me want to stay again. The bathrooms were filthy and unhygienic, the kitchen wasn’t in good shape, and the breakfast that was supposed to be included never showed up. For what we paid, it was shocking. We’d stayed in hostels elsewhere in Brazil for the same price and had an incredible experience. Sadly, I only took one picture.

The staff were lovely and the simple breakfast was very good. I liked the clean female room, the good bathroom, and the quiet beach nearby. A really nice place.

I had a reservation, but nobody came to the door to let me in. They left me stranded at night, and I had to find another hotel at 1 am. They didn’t answer the phone or WhatsApp either. Don’t stay here.

Comfortable beds, thoughtful design, and everything was extremely clean. The staff were very friendly, and the place had a local feel.
