Jota, the owner, was amazing. He was helpful with anything we needed and made us feel so welcome. The hostel was clean and everything worked well. Praia de Campeche is wonderfully close, with a clean beach that has plenty to do or is just right for lounging. In the evening, there are several hammocks where you can read or take a nap. If you're visiting the area and want a great beach, a kind host, and very good prices, check out Magia do Mar. It really does feel magical.

The man who owns and runs this hostel was one of the kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He goes out of his way to make sure your needs are taken care of. I’d recommend the stay to anyone, and I hope I can return one day.

They seem like nice people, but I couldn’t stay here because of how they treat their dog. Alfonsa spends almost all day shut in a small area, breathing her own urine and poop, and hardly gets taken outside into the yard. They watch futebol and eat while forgetting about her. She’s a beautiful, friendly, sweet dog who deserves more freedom, love, attention, and a good life with the family, not to be locked away from the world. I wanted to take her with me, but I don’t live here. In the USA, I would call animal control. If you stay here, please try to help Alfonsa. I wish I could slap these people. Thank you.
