For 85 R$ a night for one person, it’s a small, modest hotel. The room had a mini fridge and very good air conditioning. The shower was good too, with hot water and a strong flow. Cleanliness was a letdown, though: there was hair on the bed and on the shower walls, and my room wasn’t cleaned during my three-night stay. The staff are very nice, especially the young woman who speaks English really well. The area felt relatively safe at night, and I didn’t feel threatened. It’s a bit of a walk to the center, but there’s private parking if you have a car. A driver can be hired for 50 R$ for a trip to Paraguay. Cafes and restaurants are a 10-minute walk away on the main street, and the small city terminal is about 20 minutes away on foot, with connections to attractions in the waterfall area.

If you just need an inexpensive room, this is a good option. But the owners should pay more attention to a few things. The bathroom windows wouldn’t close, and the fridge in the room was noisy. The beds only had a loose sheet over the mattress, so we were lying right on it every night. The walls are thin too, and children woke us up every day.

Our first night here, our pickup was stolen right outside the hotel. It completely wrecked our trip and our happiness. Be careful with your cars. They said there was parking, but it was just a narrow corridor, and only whoever arrived first could park there. When we came back and found no space, they told us it was safe to leave the car on the street in front of the hotel. Think carefully about staying here if you’re travelling by car.

Staying at this guesthouse was a good choice. I went to Foz with my mother, and we were treated really well from the start. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was very tasty. A special thank you to Ana Paula at reception for being so attentive to my mother.
