Jucy and Joao, the two people working here, were wonderful, very sweet and courteous. The setting is relaxing, especially around the pool and bar, and there’s lush greenery all around. It’s a three-to-five-minute walk to the bustle and noise of town, though the place itself isn’t right in the center. Breakfast at 8 a.m. had a great selection, and they also serve coffee in the evening around 5. The rooms are basic, clean, and well maintained.

The buffet breakfast was great, and the pousada is fairly new and quite clean. It’s a nice place, but our room wasn’t very appealing, with little round windows and almost no view. The property also felt farther from the town center than any other pousada, even though the town is tiny and the distance shouldn’t really be a problem. Staff were another issue. They were almost never around, and when we asked for help they mostly just nodded or shrugged. At times it seemed like nobody was there, which got annoying.

The owner made us feel completely at ease, and even prepared the breakfast treats herself. They were wonderful. The service was incredible, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast may be simple, but everything served tastes great. The pousada is tucked away in the woods, which makes the stay even nicer, surrounded by nature and birdsong.
