Fauna

Bananal is a lovely, peaceful village, and the pousada has beautiful views over the bay. Natalia was warm, welcoming, and helpful. The rooms are simple and clean, breakfast was tasty, and her great caprinnhas went perfectly with those picture postcard sunsets.

Natalia and Juan have made Fauna into a little world of its own, with love put into every detail. From our first look, the place felt like real paradise, and that feeling stayed with us all five days. The time flew by, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

We planned on staying two days and ended up extending to three. This little paradise has delicious breakfasts, a lovely terrace view, nature and quiet, plus caipirinhas in the evening. Natalia, the owner, made the experience truly magical. She’s one of the best hosts I’ve ever met. Thank you for everything, we’ll be back!

In the evenings we’d play board games and relax in the pousada’s communal area. During the day there are hikes through the jungle to other beaches, snorkeling from the nearby beach, and scuba diving. You’re right by the shore, surrounded by nature, with the waves audible all day and night. We came in the off season and were the only guests, which made everything so peaceful. Natalia welcomed us with a big smile when she picked us up, and was exceptionally kind and attentive throughout our four days. The breakfasts were huge and delicious, and her fresh ginger caipirinhas were the best. I’d never tried that combination before. Thank you, Natalia, for creating such a wonderful place to share. We’ll be back.
