Pousada Refúgio do Capitão

The rooms were immaculate and it was so close to the beach. Sara was so sweet and kind, and Gustavo was super nice and helpful. Everyone made us feel like part of the family, and the food was next level with generous portions. We loved this place. Thanks again for having us!

I had such an amazing stay. The team was helpful, trustworthy, and wonderful. I lost my phone there, and even after I’d left the island, they made sure I got it back. Breakfast was delicious, especially the coconut and chocolate cakes, which I believe are called bolo de cenote. I’ve never had a better one anywhere else in Brasil. I recommend it 100%!

The staff went out of their way to arrange transport to the island and pick us up at the dock. We arrived to a warm welcome of water, coffee, and cake, and could use complimentary snorkel gear and filtered water. The property is a short walk from the beach, the rooms were cleaned daily, and the grounds are immaculate. Breakfast had a great range of delicious options. Staff were exceptionally attentive, and they even set up a special table for my girlfriend’s birthday, a gesture we’ll always remember. The property is beautifully maintained, and everyone was dedicated and helpful. We had a relaxing, hospitable stay that exceeded our expectations and can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Choosing Araçatiba over Abraão worked out really well. It had everything we needed, from walks and runs to kayaks, boat tours, and excellent restaurants. The pousada was lovely too, with beautiful communal areas, friendly, helpful staff, and amazing breakfasts. The air conditioning helped us adjust to the heat at first, and there were fridges in the rooms. We’d love to come back.
