I stayed at Residencial Vilamar in January, during high season, in suite 45 with four people. The place has some good features, but the problems and poor reception service made the stay frustrating. The reception staff were not welcoming, and even asking for information made us feel like a nuisance. The pool is heated and pleasant, and its area is attractive and well cared for. The shower had great pressure and temperature, the old refrigerator was spacious and worked very well, and the Wi-Fi actually worked. The location is good, between the ferry and the historic center. The suite has only old-style outlets in the bedroom and bathroom. There’s just one in the bedroom, far from the bed. The air conditioner leaked into the room because its drain emptied into an improvised container that filled overnight. We had to wake up to empty it and mop up the water. The jacuzzi was only available with reception’s permission and was turned off after about two hours, supposedly because of noise. Then they turned it back on for other guests, which seemed inconsistent. The inn says it has parking, but there isn’t any. In high season there are no spaces on the street, and although they offered to leave the car key so staff could move it, they refused because the space in front is reserved for the owner’s car. There were no blankets or throws, so the room got cold at night. Bring your own or you’ll be cold. The balcony railing was flimsy and slanted, and I hurt my hand on it. There was also no clothesline or place for wet clothes, so we used the railing and put stones on top to keep them from blowing away. There’s no breakfast at the inn, and the options reception suggested were far away and often closed.
