Ecopousada Serra Verde

The place is so peaceful, and the setting looks like a painting. My husband and I spent some lovely days at the inn in late September. Domingos and Mariza were wonderful hosts, so attentive and kind, and the food was delicious. We also did the trail, which I’d strongly recommend. It’s a restful place with excellent food and a very warm welcome.

The food was delicious at every meal, with obvious care put into it, and the hosts were attentive and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, and the internet is fast, which is helpful if you need to stay connected. Set in the forest, the property has lots of greenery, a lagoon, lovely decorations, and trails right on the grounds, so you can enjoy nature without giving up comfort. It’s beside a clean, pleasant stretch of the Rio das Velhas. If you’re driving, several waterfalls are nearby, including Cachoeira do Cascalho, Carrancas, and Cruzado. There are also historic towns and interesting places in the area, including three craft breweries. I recommend it!

My sisters from the Amaranto group (@amarantooficial) and I held three MULHERES LIVRES retreats at Eco Pousada Serra Verde, and I also ran the first "Antes, YOGA!" retreat there. Our students had nothing but good things to say. The food, rooms, and service were all perfect. I’ll definitely keep holding more events there. A sure success!

The kitchen is excellent, and every dish on the menu was good. Breakfast had plenty of variety, and there was a wide selection of local dishes. We had a great stay over Carnival. The inn is well cared for and organized, with the owners, Sr Domingos and Dna Marisa, looking after every detail. There’s lots of greenery and it’s very quiet, a great place to rest and enjoy nature.
