Hotel San Remo

Great.

The location worked really well, close to the center and surrounded by snack bars, a pharmacy, and all kinds of shops. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the linens were good quality. The staff were attentive too. Breakfast is simple and served at Rei do Mate, which you can reach from inside the hotel. You can also buy things that aren’t part of the buffet. The stairs were the downside for me since there’s no elevator. Parking is across the street on a dirt surface, and that could be improved.

It’s a very modern hotel, but I didn’t like that the double beds were made by pushing two single beds together. There also weren’t many outlets I could easily reach in my room.

The employees were polite and welcoming, which was the one real bright spot. The hotel itself was awful. The price didn’t match what was offered at all. Our room was cramped, had no top sheet or bedside lights, and the bathroom was tiny. They’d pushed single beds together, and there were very few outlets for charging phones, with just one by the bed. The toilet was loose, which was really unpleasant. We were also missing a bath towel and soap. It was Christmas Eve and apparently we were the only guests in the whole hotel, but the place was full of mosquitoes. For a room at that nightly rate, they could at least have put out some insect repellent. Breakfast was basic and didn’t justify the price either. It was served inside Rei do Mate, which felt strange, and the service area was extremely small. There’s no internal parking. The gate was manual, so guests had to open and close it themselves. Terrible. I don’t recommend it.
