Hostel flor do Caribe

It's lovely and welcoming, and I really enjoyed my stay. The host is very kind and helpful. It feels more like an inn than a typical hostel, though. One downside is that there isn't a shared bathroom guests can use after checkout, which is common in hostels.

I booked through Booking because the rating was high, but my experience fell short. I reserved a double room with a private bathroom, but there was no minibar in the room. Breakfast was very poor, just the bare basics, despite Booking comments calling it wonderful. I feel those comments may have been dressed up. The room was acceptably clean. The daytime staff were very helpful, but the teenage girl working at night wasn't friendly at all. I felt misled by the Booking rating.

Flor do Caribe, both hostel and guesthouse, is a good choice at a fair price. The staff are helpful, and the room is clean and has a good setup for guest comfort. It's one of the best value-for-money places I could have found.

Sharing one bathroom among eight people in the room was difficult to manage. I also want to stress that good food preparation practices should be reviewed regularly when breakfast is served.
