Du Chico Pousada

The rooms feel quite new, with a spacious bathroom and powerful air conditioning. There's also a pool area if you want to relax at the pousada. It's right in the center of the village of Jericoacoara, about a five-minute walk to the little square, with bakeries, small markets, convenience shops, and restaurants just steps away. The service is excellent, and the receptionist has all the information and contacts you need for tours and places to visit.

I loved waking up to the sound of birds. There's also a tree right in the middle of the street that gives the place extra charm. The pousada is peaceful and airy, with a pool, close to the beach, and the service was great. We were welcomed so warmly. Highly recommend it.

Right in the center of Jeri, this bed and breakfast is quiet and very well located. Glayson and Maga gave us an excellent welcome and were always attentive. Breakfast is served at the restaurant next door, where the service was perfect, even after hours. 👍

I won't recommend Pousada Du Chico. I had booked a stay from 12/04 to 14/04 on January 30, and the owner had told me by audio message that I could park at the pousada for R$20 a day. I live in Curitiba and had driven my own car for comfort and independence. In the village of Jericoacoara, cars aren't allowed, so you pay to park and rely on their vehicles to get around. But the pousada is in Jijoca de Jericoacoara, where I understood I could leave my car. On the day I was due to arrive, I messaged to make sure everything was set. That's when the surprise came: the owner said I could no longer park at the pousada. I would have to leave the car in a private lot for R$40 a day and depend on workers to take me to it and bring me back. That would have been a serious problem on 14/04, when I needed to leave at 4 a.m. for Barreirinhas, Maranhão, where I'd already paid R$500 for tours that same day. These trips have to be arranged in advance. I couldn't risk waiting to see whether someone would come get me at 4 a.m. and take me to the lot. I had chosen to drive so I could leave when I needed to and reach my destination on time. The thing that angers me most is that the owner knew I needed an early departure for my tours in Barreirinhas, but didn't tell me about the parking change. He only mentioned it because I asked. Otherwise, I would have arrived and found myself in that situation. I was traveling from Curitiba on March 22 and visiting several parts of the Northeast. I was with my husband and pet, and had five bags to move in a jardineira. My car gives me comfort, convenience, and independence. Having to leave it in a lot far from the pousada would have made everything much harder. So, on the way to Jericoacoara, I decided to cancel my stay and change that day's itinerary. I lost the R$196 I'd paid in January to make the reservation. I sent my Pix details on WhatsApp in case a refund was possible, but the person who saw the message didn't have the courtesy to reply. I still plan to visit the area, but with a local tour operator, and I won't book with this pousada. The owner should have told me about the change, especially since they knew my situation.
