Apartamento no Edifício Beira Mar

The view out over the sea is beautiful, from Cabo Point all the way to the old Hotel Tambau. This was one of the first buildings on the beach, so it has a lot of history. The building itself is old, but it's well maintained and pleasant. The Beira-mar building is in the best spot on the state's best urban beach. My rating is influenced a lot by how I feel about the place.

I've never gone inside the condo, but it's a very old building. It has eight floors, while the other buildings along the Cabo Branco waterfront aren't allowed to go above three, so it doesn't fit the area's standards. Its height, built outside those standards, works against it and makes it stand out completely from the surrounding buildings. From the street, it looks like it hasn't been maintained well. It's disappointing to see a tall, poorly maintained building on the waterfront of João Pessoa's best beach.

From the apartment, you can see Ponta do Seixas, the easternmost point of the Americas. Edifício Beira Mar was built in the 1960s, among the first buildings along Cabo Branco’s seafront, and is one of the few allowed to rise above five floors under the city’s master plan. Its height gives it a privileged view over the sea, with the sunrise right at the windows. João Pessoa is the country’s capital where the sun rises first. Cabo Branco is lovely for swimming, and the promenade runs from Ponta do Seixas to the edge of Manaíra and the Bessa neighborhood.

It’s an older building, but it’s kept up well. Being taller than the other buildings along the shore means it has a great view, and the place gets plenty of air. The location is excellent.
