You only need to bring food and drinks; the place is fully equipped. It’s a wonderful spot to rest, relax, or enjoy another honeymoon, with a whirlpool right in the room and an incredible view. I highly recommend it.

The view really took my breath away. The house sits high up with nothing blocking the beautiful cliff face, and having breakfast on the deck looking out at it was a great experience. We stayed in the house for four, and I was surprised by how well set up everything was. I loved the roomy granite counter and sturdy kitchen gear, from the microwave, air fryer, blender, and toaster to all kinds of pots and pans. I love cooking, so I was very happy with it. The kitchen is raised above the other rooms, which meant I could chat with people in the bathtub and at the grill. The bedrooms were cozy, clean, and well equipped, and the bathroom was also very clean and well stocked. I left really happy with our weekend.

The main problem was the construction right across from the property. We chose the place because the listing described a quiet setting, but nobody told us about the work. It started at 6:30 in the morning and went on until 5:30 in the afternoon. I had already complained to the owner about it, and left a day early, but nobody even asked why. There were some good points: the place was clean, though they use far too much perfume on everything. The bathtub worked properly and the fridge was great. Communication between the caretaker and the person I spoke to on WhatsApp was poor. When we arrived, the caretaker didn’t know we were coming. When we left, he asked me to pay the second part of the rental, even though I’d already sent it to Lucas, the owner. The TV is tiny, maybe 32 inches, and the sound is already blown out. There’s no speaker, so guests may have been using the TV for sound and damaged it. Its old operating system was frustrating to use, and it’s mounted near the ceiling, so watching a movie on such a small screen gave me neck pain. The hammock is much longer than the distance between its supports, so it hangs almost on the ground. It’s also in a spot that smells strongly of sewage. The sink fixtures are very old: the bathroom one feels like it might come off in your hand, and the kitchen tap sprays water everywhere. There is a veranda, but it has no privacy because it’s right next to the street. That wasn’t mentioned in the listing, which says the place has privacy.

The view is the first thing I keep thinking about: Lapinha da Serra, the mountains, and the reservoir all make for an incredible scene. Casa do Vaz is a lovely place to unwind and enjoy nature, with a spacious deck, a grill, and a wonderful hot tub outside. The house was comfortable and well equipped, with a TV, good Wi-Fi, a complete kitchen, and spotless bed and bath linens. The hosts were very attentive and available whenever we had questions. Thanks so much to Lucas and Bruno, who welcomed us at the house. The location is great, and it’s peaceful and quiet. I’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a special stay in Lapinha da Serra.
