FLORES DE MONTE VERDE is the place's new name. It changed owners 2-3 months ago, but the problems mentioned in earlier reviews are still there. There was a horrible urine smell in the bathroom. The shower enclosure was broken, so water covered the floor outside it. The shower took a long time to heat up, so turn it on before getting in. The brown fixtures hide the dirt. The bathroom mat was a floor rag, and they only put out a proper mat after I complained at reception. There were no sheets on the bed when I arrived. They put some on only after I complained. There isn't even a glass in the room, so you have to ask reception if you need one. They don't collect the chalet trash or replace the toilet paper. If it runs out, you have to ask for more. Breakfast was simple but reasonable, except one day there wasn't any cheese at all. Nothing fancy, but Minas Gerais locals typically have some cheese with breakfast. They also don't replenish the food, so as things run out, that's it. The internet connection fluctuates, but it wasn't bad enough to ruin the stay. Parking is on the street sidewalk. That wasn't exactly a problem, but there aren't enough spaces for everyone. The photos are misleading. I do not recommend this place under any circumstances!

Terrible! The photos are very misleading. I booked a luxury chalet, but when I arrived it was a dump. For context, I had reserved three nights and couldn't even stay one. The bed was awful and smelled bad, the shower wouldn't heat up, the floor was broken, and the Wi-Fi didn't work when I tried to find another inn. When I complained, they told me this was all they had to offer. I returned the key and left. I asked the manager to contact me, but got no response. You can guess why, everything had already been paid for. I only dealt with the receptionists, who didn't have the authority to negotiate. Fortunately, there are plenty of other hotels and inns in town that met our expectations, and our New Year's Eve was great!

I felt unsafe there several times, and when the power went out, there was no generator or feedback from the hotel. The room was dirty and smelled awful, with ants everywhere. The shower stall was cramped and there was no hot water. One employee, whose name I’d rather not give, was extremely intrusive and unprepared. It was bad enough that I brought my trip home forward.

The pool, shower, and location were all great, and the staff were really friendly and attentive. But the room itself let us down badly. It had a strong urine smell, the mattress was uncomfortable, and the bedding was very worn, including a torn comforter. They’d put blankets under the mattress to make it a little less uncomfortable. The heated pool was out of service. Breakfast was simple but enough, and the building looks lovely from the outside. Such a shame.
