The owner is friendly and the location’s good, but this hostel feels like a project that hasn’t been finished. The rooms get ridiculously hot, and the ceiling fan barely works, so we’re relying on a table fan for the whole room. The pool is so dirty it can’t be used. I saw nobody swimming there, which is probably why, and advertising it is misleading. There was dried spit in the sink for more than a day and a half, and nobody came to clean it. It’s not great for meeting people or traveling solo. There are only five guests staying here at the moment.

Cristiano is a fantastic host, always glad to help, and the pool’s a lovely spot to enjoy the sun. The hostel is comfortable, too, and Ponta Negra beach is a 10-minute walk away. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The shared kitchen had all the utensils we needed, a very organized fridge, and even a clothesline for drying towels or bikinis. The rooms were spotless with new mattresses, the bathroom was clean, and the other guests, who were also traveling alone, were really friendly. We ended up going out together every day, so saying goodbye to the hostel was the hardest part. Joyce and her husband were wonderful hosts. They welcomed me at night without a reservation after I left another hostel on the same street in tears. Joyce was incredibly helpful. I’d love to come back ❤️
