Leonardo was great and kept checking that all three of us were comfortable. The location and the spaces were lovely, and breakfast was amazing. This place feels like a little hidden gem in Olinda. I’ll definitely come back!

A classic.

The people in charge were so friendly and attentive, and the whole place felt welcoming, like my grandma’s house. It’s simple, with a lovely garden and rustic decor that suits the colonial-era building. I’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast was served in such a pleasant spot that you really felt at home. There was hot coffee, tasty toasted bread, fruit, tea, scrambled eggs, and cuscuz. Leo’s service was wonderful too, always polite and checking that guests were comfortable and welcomed. The building is historic, and there are details all over worth taking a closer look at, from the simple decorations to the giant carnival figures up in the windows, waiting for the pre-Carnival festivities. The room was basic, but the mattress and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was simple too, with a working hot shower and a bidet spray. Everything was clean, and the location and service made the price feel fair.

We left halfway through the stay, even though we didn’t get a refund. The room was so uncomfortable it made for our worst travel experience. There were termites, the bedding was dirty and uncomfortable, and there was a used bar of soap in the bathroom. There was no shower enclosure, and the high curtain let water splash everywhere. The furniture was very poor, the mattress was hard, and the air conditioning remote barely worked. It felt like we’d paid less than 50 reais for the room. There were good things about the place: the location and breakfast were good, the employees were nice and we enjoyed talking with them, and we liked the common-area decor. But those didn’t make up for the room. The owners woke us at 6:15 in the morning by talking outside our room. We have nothing personal against them, and they were decent people, but we sincerely hope they take steps to make the place acceptable.
