It’s a short walk from the city’s central mine, which is a really cool place to visit. Just be ready for things like the TV or air conditioning to be out of order. Check them before you sit on or touch the beds, or you may have to fight to get a room change.

Ouro Preto is a beautiful city full of culture, with great food and music, and the area felt safe. There are lots of tourists, so book ahead. I spent a weekend there, but I’d personally suggest one night in Ouro Preto and a day on a 4 x 4 adventure in nearby Lavras Novas, a nature-oriented town.

A comfortable pousada at a very appealing price, close to several tourist spots. The front desk is staffed around the clock, and everyone treated us really well. Breakfast was delicious too.

We liked the place, especially the parking and generous breakfast. We were traveling as a family group, but our room’s shower didn’t get very hot. Still, we enjoyed our stay overall.

Being close to Praça Tiradentes, having on-site parking, and keeping the place clean were definite pluses. In our room there were no blankets, the TV had no signal, and breakfast didn’t include scrambled or omelet eggs. The mattress is quite firm, and rooms facing the front are noisy.
