Gustavo deserves a special mention. He was very calm and helpful, and the cleaning was excellent, everything was well looked after. The stay itself was good, and the location is convenient, but the old house has some things that affected my comfort. The bathroom wasn’t inside the room, which I found very unpleasant, especially at night because it was quite a walk. There are two staircases to deal with when carrying luggage, and the locks take a bit of a knack to open and close. The gate has to be slammed shut, so it makes noise, particularly at night, and the area itself has constant sounds. I’d suggest reconsidering the bathroom setup.

The rooms are separated by wooden slats instead of walls, so there’s almost no sound insulation. People next door had the TV up, talked and laughed through the night, then started snoring very loudly around 2 a.m. We couldn’t sleep. The old beds and mattresses were poor too, like sleeping in an old house. Without any acoustic insulation, you’re basically relying on luck that other guests stay quiet. That wasn’t our experience, and the stay was awful. I don’t recommend it.

I loved staying at this pousada. It’s right by the church and in the middle of everything. The place has a rustic character, with old historic pieces throughout. Dona Cláudia, Gustavo, and Rita were all wonderful and so polite. A thousand out of a thousand!
