Religious fanaticism gets in the way of how the pousada is run. There are too many controls and senseless breakfast rules about what guests can and can’t eat. Reply: The accusations aren’t true. I’m not talking about your religion, but about the fanaticism that seriously limits guests’ freedom to choose what and how much to eat. The breakfast selection needs more variety. Unlike what you’re saying, this has nothing to do with God or your religion, but with your fanaticism. From my room I heard you arguing with and disrespecting your employee, stopping her from offering guests more food choices and saying they were eating too much. I had to eat breakfast outside the pousada on Saturday because you don’t serve it that day. How unfortunate. This isn’t about religion, it’s about my right to speak up about something I paid for.

Jô was incredibly attentive and careful with everything. The pousada has excellent accommodations, spotless rooms, high-quality bed and bath linens, and a really tasty breakfast. I was charmed and am already thinking about coming back!

Future guests should be aware: check-in is only after 19:00, even though Booking says 14:00. This is what happened: Booking showed check-in at 14:00. After I made the reservation, the property messaged to say it was only at 19:00. That leaves out five hours of the stay, which is 20% of a day. I’ve attached two screenshots, one of the Booking confirmation showing 14:00 and another of the message changing it to 19:00 after the reservation was already made. In response to the property, I’m not retracting anything. What I wrote is completely true. Fact one: Booking lists 14:00. Fact two: after booking, you message to say 19:00. If you don’t like the negative review, that’s your problem. Facts are facts, no matter how you respond.

The room and accommodations are good, but breakfast was the worst I’ve had at a pousada in 30 years. The owner controls what you’re allowed to eat, and the options seem uneven: on the day there’s cake, there’s no yogurt, and on the day there’s pão de queijo, there’s no bread. There’s no Saturday breakfast for religious reasons, and the Wi-Fi was awful. This was my worst experience, and I won’t come back. They have a lot to learn. The owner replied and managed to lie about everything. She argues with staff, wants to convert us, and decides what we can eat. She always says no, then comes back with a nice-sounding story that’s all nonsense. We also witnessed the argument. Very upsetting.
