Pousada Flores do Mar

My stay was no good, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The price doesn’t match reality. The breakfast was very weak, and it’s about a 20-minute walk to the beach and 15 minutes to the center. When we arrived, the pool was very dirty. We were put in room 09 at the back, where the shower was clogged and no water came out. The walls and bedding were dirty. We asked to change rooms and were moved to tiny room 11, also at the back. Its shower wasn’t plugged in, there was no hot water, and I had to figure out how to connect it myself. The bedding was dirty there too.

The location is great, and the place has a lot of potential to be much more pleasant. But the rooms let it down. In the room I stayed in at suítes flores do mar, there was mold, water damage, cracks, and a bad smell coming from the bathroom. The beds were uncomfortable, the mini fridge didn’t cool, and I had to share the room with cockroaches. The reception was rarely staffed. Breakfast was nice on the second day, but on the first there was no replenishment, so we ate whatever happened to be left.

The staff were friendly, the location convenient, breakfast decent, and the air conditioning worked well. But my experience was only so-so. My room had a constant unpleasant smell that seemed to come from the bathroom, maybe from the drain. There was water damage on the walls, the bathroom was very cramped, and unfortunately I had to deal with cockroaches. The mattress had a huge dip in it, so sleeping wasn’t comfortable. The place urgently needs maintenance.

I used to love this inn when it had its previous owner. I’d been coming since 2022, about three times a year, and it was always very clean and well organized. The change of ownership really disappointed me. The place needs new management to improve things. There was nobody at reception, and I had to ask for dirty sheets to be changed. The air conditioning wasn’t working when I arrived, so I had to wait for it to be fixed. I was in a room at the back with a bad smell. The pool was dirty, and the grass beside it was full of cat poop. Breakfast was okay.
