Pousada Riacho Doce

A terrible place to stay. We booked at Pousada Riacho Doce, but ended up at the neighboring Pousada Recanto Veloso, even though they say the two have different administrators. The room was tiny, the beds were hard, the mold smell was unbearable, the water tasted rusty, the cleaning was poor, and the TV didn't work. We stayed six days and left the key so they could clean, but they only came once. They barely wiped things over and turned the same dirty floor towel around to its other side. Our bathroom sink was blocked; they fixed that, but then water started leaking from the sink trap and soaked the bathroom. Replacing toilet paper was a struggle, and there was almost never anyone at Pousada Recanto Veloso to help or provide service. Breakfast was served at Pousada Riacho Doce. During our stay, the cakes and pies were undercooked and the sweet bread was hard. There was also a clear plant pot at the entrance full of mosquito larvae and eggs. Staff removed it only after one of our travel companions called over the person in charge and showed them what was in it. What a shame.

There's a decent amount of space at the inn, but the service was very poor. Our room was dirty with traces of the previous guests when we arrived, and it wasn't cleaned during our five day stay. The towels and bedding were dirty too. Breakfast had undercooked cake and pie, and stale bread.

We can't recommend this accommodation. The service lacked professionalism, and when we needed an invoice, they refused to send it. During the New Year's Eve period, we also had several issues involving our clients, which caused trouble and left us dissatisfied. Based on all of this, we don't recommend staying here.

Our stay was really bad. The bed was hard and the air conditioner was dirty. The housekeeping staff took our belongings and moved them to another room without asking us. It all felt badly organized, and I wouldn't recommend it. Some rooms don't have a minibar, and the kitchen was very dirty, with food in the fridge stored poorly and in bad condition.
